How to live Christ-like-lesson 2

How to live a Christ-like life

This is the second lesson of the outline previously presented. If you have not yet gone over the first one, please take the time to do that first.  Like baseball, you can’t make it home if you don’t touch first base first!!  Jesus is first base, so don’t pass Him by.

2.  Study the word of God – 2 Timothy 2:15

God has given us all the instructions and guidelines we need to live a peaceful, successful, magnificent lives, but we have to open the instruction manual to know what it says.  If you buy anything that needs to be put together, you could just throw it up the way you think it should go, or if you are wise, you would follow the directions of the person that created the item.  Well, since God created us, wouldn’t it make sense to follow the plans that He has for us???

2 Timothy 2:15 tells us to study to show ourselves approved unto God.  What that means is that when we put God first and take the time to really study His word, apply it to our lives and then share it with others by how we live, then we will represent our Father in the way that He should be represented.  If we belong to Him, then we are His ambassadors and one of our responsibilities is to show others how much He loves us and wants the best for us.  Just like an ambassador that is sent out from his/her country to represent the heads of that country, so are we sent out to represent our King, JESUS!!!

Hit The Delete Button

The other day I was watching Joel Osteen on television and he was talking about deleting negative things people may say about us. A lot of times we accept negative criticism that people say to us like, “you are never going to amount to anything in life; you’re never going to be the person you think you  are going to be when you grow up (doctor, lawyer, etc.)”.  When people keep talking about us negatively and we listen, we start believing it. We start saying to ourselves that I would never ever be able to do that. I don’t have the capability to do that at my skill level. Now we’re so deep in our own negative thoughts that down the line we’re never going to be who God called us to be in life. Instead of receiving negative comments from people, we need to delete them. You ask how, by saying the opposite. I will be that when I grow up. I am at that skill level to get that job. Never give up when you’re trying to reach your goals. When people say no never give up and keep pushing towa
