Hit The Delete Button

The other day I was watching Joel Osteen on television and he was talking about deleting negative things people may say about us. A lot of times we accept negative criticism that people say to us like, “you are never going to amount to anything in life; you’re never going to be the person you think you are going to be when you grow up (doctor, lawyer, etc.)”. Dare To Be Different

I’m sure you’ve noticed how different human beings are! We’re all unique. Like the sun, the moon, and the stars mentioned in today’s scripture, God created each of us to be different from one another, and He did this on purpose. Each of us meets a need, and we are all part of God’s overall plan. Read More Here

God Made Us Unique Part 1

I prefer to use the word unique, because it stands out in my eyes. Can you even imagine if God made everybody the same? With the same favorite color, clothes styles, food etc. This world would be really boring. Read More Here

Watch God Work!

Moses told the people, Fear not; stand still (firm, confident, undismayed) and see the salvation of the Lord which He will work for you today… The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.
                                                                                      Exodus 14:13-14

We have free access to God. We can go before Him anytime we want to. We don’t need a special invitation. The throne room is always open, God is always home, He is never napping or on the phone. We can go boldly, expecting Him to meet our need and do it willingly and joyfully.
No doubt millions of people pray, but the question we want answered is, how do they pray? Do they pray expectantly, boldly, fearlessly, confidently, aggressively, or ashamed, condemned, asking for barely enough to get by on and seriously doubting if they will even get that?
You go, girl! Start praying like you have never prayed before. Believe that God wants to meet your needs because He is good, not necessarily because you are good. None of us living in a fleshly body has a perfect record. We all make mistakes, and yours probably are no worse than anyone else’s. So stop beating up on yourself and start expecting God to be God in your life. BE confident even when you don’t FEEL confident and watch God work!

Lord, I am confident that You are Almighty God and You will work wonders on my behalf. I ask You to fight for me and bring me through to victory. Amen

Reeses and I - The Waiting Game

Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!
                                                                                                                                       Psalm 27:13

I always prayed to God about getting a puppy. I never gave up even after a few years had passed by, I just kept thanking Him in advance. Then one day we got a call that this young lady was selling Chihuahuas. So my mom and I went to her house and picked out our puppy, we even named him. We couldn't bring him home yet, because he had not been weaned from his mother. We had to wait a few weeks to bring our new puppy home.
The lady called us a week after we had been there and said that we could get our puppy. My mom and I knew that it was too early to bring him home and she only wanted the money. So my mom told her we wouldn't be getting the puppy, it was just too early to bring home.
I was so close to getting a puppy, but I didn't get upset. I just started thanking God for a puppy for our family. A couple more years past and one day when my mom was at work one of her co-workers was talking about a woman she knew that was giving away mix breed puppies. My mom’s friend was disappointed that she had not gotten one. My mom was like “I wish you told me about them”. The co-worker called the woman to see if there were any puppies left and there was one still there. Two days later my mom and her friend went to pick up the puppy at the woman’s house. I got my new mix breed (Beagle & Chihuahua mix) and I named him Reeses. He has light and dark brown fur like a Reeses butter cup. The main message I’m sharing here is never give up on your prayers. After you pray start thanking God and have patience. I know it won’t be easy but just trust God and you will get your prayers answered.
I still thank God for blessing me with Reeses, I never stop thanking Him. We should always be thankful for our blessings, even before we actually get them!

Day of silence

Silence is SO Important

My prayers  and heart go out to the families, God is with them.

To the Blog World and Anyone Else who Wants to Help,

Yesterday, tragedy struck so many of us in ways we did not foresee. An elementary school and small town in Connecticut was shattered by a mass shooting. We knew we wanted to help and we came up with this:

On Tuesday, December 18th, there will be a blogger day of silence. We will post the button and that's it. Please try to not post anything else that day if possible.

We are also raising money that will go to an organization in the memory of this tragedy. The organization is called The Newtown Family Youth and Family Services. Here is the official description of the support service we are donating to:

"Newtown Youth and Family Services, Inc. is a licensed, non-profit, mental health clinic and youth services bureau dedicated to helping children and families achieve their highest potential. NYFS provides programs, services, activities, counseling, support groups and education throughout the Greater Newtown area.

Please visit THIS PAGE to make your donation.

We can't imagine how they must be feeling, especially this close to the holidays. We would love for you to spread the word on your own blog, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Let's make a difference and use blogging in a positive way. Thank you in advance for participating.

Be Glad

Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord, your God; for He gives you the former or early rain in just measure and in righteousness, and He causes to come down for you the rain, the former rain  and the latter rain, as before. And the [threshing] floors shall be full of grain and the vats shall overflow with juice [of the grape] and oil.
                                                                                                                     Joel 2:23-24

So many times our outward appearance shows the way we’re feeling inside. But it can also work the other way! When we look confident on the outside, we can feel more confident on the inside. When you walk, stand upright. Don’t slump your shoulders and hang your head down. You are full of life of God, so act like it!
Live with passion, zeal and enthusiasm. Don’t just try to “make it” through the day. Celebrate the day. Say, “This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it” (see Psalm 118:24). Don’t dread the day; attack the day. Know what you want to accomplish today and go for it.
You go, girl- you start talking and walking with confidence! It is time for you to look up, not down. It is time for you to expect great things to happen in your life.

Lord, I want to live this day passionately and to celebrate Your life in me. This is the day You have made, and I want to bring You glory in it. Amen.

But who are you, o man, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’” Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

                                                                                                                                Romans 9:20 - 21

It’s something how young girls today are not satisfied by the way God made them. They want to look like the woman on TV and in the magazines or like their other friends. First of all, God made everybody beautifully and unique. He wants us to appreciate the way He made us. Like I said in the early message could you imagine if everybody was the same? God knew what He was doing when He made us. He wanted us to have our own unique look. We need to thank Him for making us unique and beautiful. Every day you need to look in the mirror and say God thank you for making me who I am. It’s sad when girls don’t like the way God made them. You might not want to think this way but, when you don’t like yourselves you are slapping God in the face by thinking that God made a mistake or that He did a bad job. I know that you don’t mean to do that, so you need to start thanking Him. Don’t be concerned about how other people look. Second, the young girls you see on TV and in the magazine are people that are either covered with makeup or airbrushed. They also starve themselves in an unhealthy manner just to please others themselves. You can’t compare yourselves with these young girls in Hollywood. Be proud of the way God made you.

In what ways are you proud about yourself?

Looking Forward

Listen to and obey My voice, and I will be your God and you will be My people…. But they would not listen to and obey Me or bend their ear [to Me], but followed the counsels and the stubborn promptings of their own evil hearts and minds, and they turned their backs and went in reverse instead of forward.

                                                                                   Jeremiah 7:23-24

I believe you are going to act on these devotional readings and begin living boldly and fearlessly as a confident woman. It doesn't matter how you lived before now, this is a new beginning. Every day God’s mercy is new, and it is available for all of us today. Don’t look back; look forward!
Be decisive, follow your heart, and don’t be overly concerned about what other people think of you and your decisions. Most of them are not thinking about you as much as you might imagine that they are anyway.
Don’t live constantly comparing yourself with others; be your unique self. (See 2 Corinthians 10:12.) Celebrate who God has made you to be. There is only one who has the unique traits and skills that made up who you are. Enjoy the fact that God knew what He was doing, and rely on the thought that surely God said the same thing about you as He did when He called the world into creation: “And it was good.”

Lord, I will look forward today, and I will follow Your voice and obey. I take hold of Your mercy and rejoice in who You've made me to be. Amen.
