Hit The Delete Button

The other day I was watching Joel Osteen on television and he was talking about deleting negative things people may say about us. A lot of times we accept negative criticism that people say to us like, “you are never going to amount to anything in life; you’re never going to be the person you think you are going to be when you grow up (doctor, lawyer, etc.)”. Dare To Be Different

I’m sure you’ve noticed how different human beings are! We’re all unique. Like the sun, the moon, and the stars mentioned in today’s scripture, God created each of us to be different from one another, and He did this on purpose. Each of us meets a need, and we are all part of God’s overall plan. Read More Here

God Made Us Unique Part 1

I prefer to use the word unique, because it stands out in my eyes. Can you even imagine if God made everybody the same? With the same favorite color, clothes styles, food etc. This world would be really boring. Read More Here

Mission Accomplished!!!

I wrote a post in January about my new year’s resolution that I will teach myself how to crochet, but my mom told me that I should learn how to knit first. So I took her advice and bought a book for beginners and the things I needed to get started. Every day and night I would take my time and practice. It's really relaxing, comfortable and fun, even if I didn't know what I was doing! When I first started knitting I kept dropping stitches and by the time I was finished with the practice piece it had a lot of runs in it lol. I kept going and didn't stop practicing. Once I got really good at it my work started looking like a master pieces. I really bought the best book on how to knit which was easy to follow. A lot of times you can buy teaching books that are really hard to understand. Because they are so difficult you either want to quit or put things on hold for a long time. In my case I didn't have that problem, thank you Lord!  Once I completed the entire lesson in the book they had a few projects for beginners. I choose to make a scarf using turquoise acrylic yarn, I love that color.  It took me about
two weeks to finish. I really wanted to take my time and make sure that I did not drop any stitches  and I didn't! My scarf is about 52 inches long. I'm so excited that I knitted my first SCARF! Now I'm making a hat for my mom; her favorite color is purple.  Down the line I will teach myself how to crochet, but for now I will stick with knitting and continue making hats and scarfs to sell in my shop for the winter.

I also started going back to school for my bachelor’s last month!!!

Have you started working on your list of things you want to accomplish in 2013? If so share with....

Take the Step

[Jesus] said, Come! So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, and he came toward Jesus.
                                                                              Matthew 14:29

Perhaps the boat you need to get out of is your past. Sometimes we get so addicted to murmuring about the past and blaming the past for everything that we miss our whole future. You’re not going to enjoy your future, and you’re not going to enjoy your right now, if all you can do is be guilty and ashamed and afraid of your past. What is it that you’re afraid somebody will find out that will cause them to turn against you?
Anything you have to keep hidden has power over you. You are not going to ever be free if you just keep running away from your past. You have to confront and deal with it. No one is going to come along and do it for you. Jesus is calling you out of the boat. God has given you His power, and His Spirit is dwelling in you, so you can do things that are hard to do. You can do anything you need to do. He isn’t going to get into your boat and make you feel better. Get it out of your system. Get out of the boat of your past.

Lord, I will not stay stuck in my past. By your grace, the past has been forgiven, and I have a new life in You. If there’s something in my past that needs to be dealt with, show me how to do it in the right way. Amen.

How to live Christ-like-lesson 2

How to live a Christ-like life

This is the second lesson of the outline previously presented. If you have not yet gone over the first one, please take the time to do that first.  Like baseball, you can’t make it home if you don’t touch first base first!!  Jesus is first base, so don’t pass Him by.

2.  Study the word of God – 2 Timothy 2:15

God has given us all the instructions and guidelines we need to live a peaceful, successful, magnificent lives, but we have to open the instruction manual to know what it says.  If you buy anything that needs to be put together, you could just throw it up the way you think it should go, or if you are wise, you would follow the directions of the person that created the item.  Well, since God created us, wouldn’t it make sense to follow the plans that He has for us???

2 Timothy 2:15 tells us to study to show ourselves approved unto God.  What that means is that when we put God first and take the time to really study His word, apply it to our lives and then share it with others by how we live, then we will represent our Father in the way that He should be represented.  If we belong to Him, then we are His ambassadors and one of our responsibilities is to show others how much He loves us and wants the best for us.  Just like an ambassador that is sent out from his/her country to represent the heads of that country, so are we sent out to represent our King, JESUS!!!
