Develop Your Gift

For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]

                                                                                             Romans 11:29

If we don’t develop our potential, it won’t get developed, because no one else can do it for us. Find out what you want to do and began to train yourself for it. If you know you can write great songs, develop your gift; arrange your life so you can write songs. If you know you can lead worship, then practice, learn music, sing with all your mind and heart, and believe. Begin leading worship, even if you start with only you and the cat or you and your children. If you know you have a talent for business, an ability to make money, then study, pray, go to school, and step out.
Whatever your gift and calling, entrust it to the Lord and be relentless in your pursuit of reaching your full potential. In some way we should improve ourselves every day. We should go forward, letting go of what lies behind, including past mistakes and past victories. Even hanging on to the glory of past victories can prevent us from being all God wants us to be in the future. Never be satisfied with being anything less than all you can be.

Lord, I recognize that I am responsible to develop and use the talents You have placed within me. Give me wisdom on the best way to go about it. Amen

  1. Amen! It is so important to use the gifts God has given us for His kingdom. The hardest part is starting! But make no doubt about it - if we're called, God WILL pursue you! :)

Hit The Delete Button

The other day I was watching Joel Osteen on television and he was talking about deleting negative things people may say about us. A lot of times we accept negative criticism that people say to us like, “you are never going to amount to anything in life; you’re never going to be the person you think you  are going to be when you grow up (doctor, lawyer, etc.)”.  When people keep talking about us negatively and we listen, we start believing it. We start saying to ourselves that I would never ever be able to do that. I don’t have the capability to do that at my skill level. Now we’re so deep in our own negative thoughts that down the line we’re never going to be who God called us to be in life. Instead of receiving negative comments from people, we need to delete them. You ask how, by saying the opposite. I will be that when I grow up. I am at that skill level to get that job. Never give up when you’re trying to reach your goals. When people say no never give up and keep pushing towa
