Reeses and I - The Waiting Game

Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!
                                                                                                                                       Psalm 27:13

I always prayed to God about getting a puppy. I never gave up even after a few years had passed by, I just kept thanking Him in advance. Then one day we got a call that this young lady was selling Chihuahuas. So my mom and I went to her house and picked out our puppy, we even named him. We couldn't bring him home yet, because he had not been weaned from his mother. We had to wait a few weeks to bring our new puppy home.
The lady called us a week after we had been there and said that we could get our puppy. My mom and I knew that it was too early to bring him home and she only wanted the money. So my mom told her we wouldn't be getting the puppy, it was just too early to bring home.
I was so close to getting a puppy, but I didn't get upset. I just started thanking God for a puppy for our family. A couple more years past and one day when my mom was at work one of her co-workers was talking about a woman she knew that was giving away mix breed puppies. My mom’s friend was disappointed that she had not gotten one. My mom was like “I wish you told me about them”. The co-worker called the woman to see if there were any puppies left and there was one still there. Two days later my mom and her friend went to pick up the puppy at the woman’s house. I got my new mix breed (Beagle & Chihuahua mix) and I named him Reeses. He has light and dark brown fur like a Reeses butter cup. The main message I’m sharing here is never give up on your prayers. After you pray start thanking God and have patience. I know it won’t be easy but just trust God and you will get your prayers answered.
I still thank God for blessing me with Reeses, I never stop thanking Him. We should always be thankful for our blessings, even before we actually get them!

Hit The Delete Button

The other day I was watching Joel Osteen on television and he was talking about deleting negative things people may say about us. A lot of times we accept negative criticism that people say to us like, “you are never going to amount to anything in life; you’re never going to be the person you think you  are going to be when you grow up (doctor, lawyer, etc.)”.  When people keep talking about us negatively and we listen, we start believing it. We start saying to ourselves that I would never ever be able to do that. I don’t have the capability to do that at my skill level. Now we’re so deep in our own negative thoughts that down the line we’re never going to be who God called us to be in life. Instead of receiving negative comments from people, we need to delete them. You ask how, by saying the opposite. I will be that when I grow up. I am at that skill level to get that job. Never give up when you’re trying to reach your goals. When people say no never give up and keep pushing towa

Watch God Work!

By: Joyce Meyer Moses told the people, Fear not; stand still (firm, confident, undismayed) and see the salvation of the Lord which He will work for you today… The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.                                                                                       Exodus 14:13-14 We have free access to God. We can go before Him anytime we want to. We don’t need a special invitation. The throne room is always open, God is always home, He is never napping or on the phone. We can go boldly, expecting Him to meet our need and do it willingly and joyfully. No doubt millions of people pray, but the question we want answered is, how do they pray? Do they pray expectantly, boldly, fearlessly, confidently, aggressively, or ashamed, condemned, asking for barely enough to get by on and seriously doubting if they will even get that? You go, girl! Start praying like you have never prayed before. Believe that God wan
