Giving Thanks


Let’s us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
                                                                                                                                                Psalm 95:2




As you all know “Thanksgiving” is right around the corner. On this day we spend our time with family and friends. Where we laugh, play, cook, eat and enjoy each other’s company. We also watch the Thanksgiving parade with each other as a tradition. All that is good, but we need to know the real meaning of Thanksgiving. A day to give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for all the things He has done for us. There’s a lot to be thankful for, for example, God allows us to wake up each morning; He keeps us safe when we’re on the road, from harm and danger. There’s other stuff we don’t even know about that God is protecting us from. My main point is that we need to give thanks to God not just on Thanksgiving, but every day of our lives. Thank God for covering our family and friends too. As you enjoy your Thanksgiving Day with your family and friends, remember to give thanks to God.

The other day I was watching Joel Osteen on television and he was talking about deleting negative things people may say about us. A lot of times we accept negative criticism that people say to us like, “you are never going to amount to anything in life; you’re never going to be the person you think you  are going to be when you grow up (doctor, lawyer, etc.)”.  When people keep talking about us negatively and we listen, we start believing it.
