How to live a Christ-like life Lesson 1

This is the first lesson based on the outline that I previously post.  I hope that you took the time to go over the outline and have read the scriptures.

1.      Give your life to God by accepting Jesus – John 3:16 and Romans 10:9-13

Jesus gave up Heaven, came to earth and on purpose took the sins of mankind.  He knew that everyone would not accept Him, but He came anyway.  Because He took on sin, He was separated from His Father. God and sin cannot associate with each other and Jesus knew that, but came to earth and took all the sins that had been committed and the ones that would ever be committed.  His love for us is so strong that He wanted to be sure that we would have the opportunity to be reconnected with God. Likewise, God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to save us. That connection would give us the right to eternal life.  It also gave us the right to live a blessed, favored, holy life.  Salvation is so simple to achieve, but we make it seem hard. “ Well, if you want to be saved you have to do this and that and so on and so on”….NO…all we have to do is believe in our hearts that Jesus is the Son of God, and confess Him with our mouths.

After you give your life to Jesus, pray and ask God to lead you to a Bible believing, Bible teaching, Christ-centered church where you can learn the word of God and how to live the awesome life that Jesus died for you to have. Get a Bible and go over the scripture and lessons at home that you heard in church.

Also, remember that anything you need to clean up in your life, give to Jesus.  The closer you get to Him, the farther you will get from the sin that tries to take hold of us.  Don’t allow anyone to condemn you for the things you still have in your life.  God knows what you need and will help you in every area of your life.

Hit The Delete Button

The other day I was watching Joel Osteen on television and he was talking about deleting negative things people may say about us. A lot of times we accept negative criticism that people say to us like, “you are never going to amount to anything in life; you’re never going to be the person you think you  are going to be when you grow up (doctor, lawyer, etc.)”.  When people keep talking about us negatively and we listen, we start believing it. We start saying to ourselves that I would never ever be able to do that. I don’t have the capability to do that at my skill level. Now we’re so deep in our own negative thoughts that down the line we’re never going to be who God called us to be in life. Instead of receiving negative comments from people, we need to delete them. You ask how, by saying the opposite. I will be that when I grow up. I am at that skill level to get that job. Never give up when you’re trying to reach your goals. When people say no never give up and keep pushing towa

Reeses and I - The Waiting Game

Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!                                                                                                                                        Psalm 27:13 I always prayed to God about getting a puppy. I never gave up even after a few years had passed by, I just kept thanking Him in advance. Then one day we got a call that this young lady was selling Chihuahuas. So my mom and I went to her house and picked out our puppy, we even named him. We couldn't bring him home yet, because he had not been weaned from his mother. We had to wait a few weeks to bring our new puppy home. The lady called us a week after we had been there and said that we could get our puppy. My mom and I knew that it was too early to bring him home and she only wanted the money. So my mom told her we wouldn't be getting the puppy, it was just too early to bring home. I was so close to getting a p
