Dare To Be Different

The sun is glorious in one way, the moon is glorious in another way, and the stars are glorious in their own [distinctive] way; for one star differs from and surpasses another in its beauty and brilliance.

                                                                                                                                   1 Corinthians 15:41

I’m sure you’ve noticed how different human beings are! We’re all unique. Like the sun, the
moon, and the stars mentioned in today’s scripture, God created each of us to be different from one another, and He did this on purpose. Each of us meets a need, and we are all part of God’s overall plan. We’re all born with different temperaments, different physical features, different emotional makeups, different gifts and abilities- different everything. Our goal should be to find out what makes us special and unique and to succeed at being the best individuals we can be. When we struggle to be like others, we lose our distinctiveness and even lose ourselves in the process. We also grieve God’s Holy Spirit. God wants us to fit into His plan, not to devise our own plans or try to fit into someone else’s design. We need to find out what God wants us to have, who He wants us to be, and what He wants us to do. That’s where we’ll discover our gifts and find both success and enjoyment. You are an individual, created on purpose for a unique role in God’s plan. I encourage you to recognize and celebrate the things that distinguish you from everyone else and enjoy the freedom that comes from being exactly who God made you to be!

Hit The Delete Button

The other day I was watching Joel Osteen on television and he was talking about deleting negative things people may say about us. A lot of times we accept negative criticism that people say to us like, “you are never going to amount to anything in life; you’re never going to be the person you think you  are going to be when you grow up (doctor, lawyer, etc.)”.  When people keep talking about us negatively and we listen, we start believing it. We start saying to ourselves that I would never ever be able to do that. I don’t have the capability to do that at my skill level. Now we’re so deep in our own negative thoughts that down the line we’re never going to be who God called us to be in life. Instead of receiving negative comments from people, we need to delete them. You ask how, by saying the opposite. I will be that when I grow up. I am at that skill level to get that job. Never give up when you’re trying to reach your goals. When people say no never give up and keep pushing towa

Looking Forward

By Joyce Meyer Listen to and obey My voice, and I will be your God and you will be My people…. But they would not listen to and obey Me or bend their ear [to Me], but followed the counsels and the stubborn promptings of their own evil hearts and minds, and they turned their backs and went in reverse instead of forward.                                                                                    Jeremiah 7:23-24 I believe you are going to act on these devotional readings and begin living boldly and fearlessly as a confident woman. It doesn't matter how you lived before now, this is a new beginning. Every day God’s mercy is new, and it is available for all of us today. Don’t look back; look forward! Be decisive, follow your heart, and don’t be overly concerned about what other people think of you and your decisions. Most of them are not thinking about you as much as you might imagine that they are anyway. Don’t live constantly comparing yourself with o
