Hit The Delete Button

The other day I was watching Joel Osteen on television and he was talking about deleting negative things people may say about us. A lot of times we accept negative criticism that people say to us like, “you are never going to amount to anything in life; you’re never going to be the person you think you are going to be when you grow up (doctor, lawyer, etc.)”. Dare To Be Different

I’m sure you’ve noticed how different human beings are! We’re all unique. Like the sun, the moon, and the stars mentioned in today’s scripture, God created each of us to be different from one another, and He did this on purpose. Each of us meets a need, and we are all part of God’s overall plan. Read More Here

God Made Us Unique Part 1

I prefer to use the word unique, because it stands out in my eyes. Can you even imagine if God made everybody the same? With the same favorite color, clothes styles, food etc. This world would be really boring. Read More Here

Trust God to Do the Heavy Lifting, Learning to receive His supernatural favo - Part 1

By Joyce Meyer

I'LL ADMIT IT. When I first began ministering more than thirty years ago, I was pretty scared and insecure. Today, it is more widely accepted to be a woman preaching the Gospel. But at that time, it wasn't very popular at all to do what I was doing.

As a result, I was afraid of being rejected. In fact, I would often bend over backwards to speak and behave the way I thought was expected of me. I so much wanted to gain other's approval.

There was just one problem: I was attempting to win favor of people, not God. I was performing in order to attain natural favor ... and it didn't work!

You see, I  hadn't yet learned this one very important lesson: When God calls someone to do something, He also place His supernatural favor upon them to do it.

Supernatural Favor vs. Natural Favor - In those early days, I knew nothing about supernatural favor. I didn't know that favor is actually a part of grace. In fact, the words "grace" and "favor" are both translated from the same Greek word charis in English New Testament.

The grace of God is the favor of God. And the grace of God causes things to happen in our lives through the channel of our faith that we cannot do on our own. It is not by human power, or by human might, but by the Holy Spirit, that we receive favor.

I absolutely love Ephesians 2:8-9. It says, For it is by free grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved...And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God.

Just like we can't earn our salvation, we also can't earn God's supernatural power and favor in our lives. It is a gift.

In fact, trying to get favor on your own is not only hard work, but it is often pointless. I speak from experience! The harder you try, the less people are attracted to you.

6 Things You should Say Every Day of Your Life - Part 2

By Joyce Meyer

I'm telling the truth-no matter what

Most Christians probably think, I don't have problem with lying. But sometimes telling the truth hurts and we just don't want to hurt or offend people or risk our reputation.

I honestly believe if you're going to be committed to the truth, at some point, you're going to have to admit your weaknesses and make hard choices.

Ephesians 4:14 tells us to let our lives lovely express truth [in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly].

I encourage you to be committed to the truth. Cherish it. Hang on to it, no matter what it costs you. You won't regret it!

Gods Word Is In My Vocabulary

Jeremiah 23:28 says, "...Let the one who has my word speak it faithfully...". The message translation of Jeremiah 23:29 says the truth is like "a sledgehammer busting a rock' into pieces. I love that!

Sometimes you have to hit a nut or a shell over and over again until it cracks open and you can enjoy the fruit inside. Well, people can be seem as hard but God's Word can open them right up.

Keep speaking the Word of God. Make it part of  your everyday vocabulary.

I'm going to say just enough

The book of Proverbs is filled with scriptures about holding your tongue. Proverbs 17:28 says, "Even a fool when he holds his peace is considered wise; when he close his lip he is esteemed a man of understanding."

Before you start talking about things you feel strongly about, ask yourself how much you really need to say. Get quiet and listen to what God is saying. You'll never regret saying what He wants you to say, the way He would say it.

It's easy to focus on things we shouldn't say or do, but that usually just leads to defeat. I want to encourage you to concentrate on the positive things you should say and do instead. As Romans 12: 31 says, we overcome evil with good. So make it your goal to do what is good before God, and enjoy the freedom and victory it brings  to your life!

6 Things You should Say Every Day of Your Life - Part 1

By Joyce Meyer

I'm blessed and I'm a blessing.

When I get up in the morning, I like to say a prayer of blessing. "God I bless this day in Jesus' name. I bless my husband. I bless my children and my sons-in-law and daughters-in-law. I bless my grandchildren. I'm blessed because of Jesus. And I'm living under the blessing of God." It really helps me start my day with a right attitude and focus.

I'm So Thankful!

Have a thanksgiving session each day. Take time to thank God for everything you can think of, from hot water to food to a roof over your head. And tell people you're thankful for what they do for you.

Psalm 107:1-2 says, "O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and Loving-kindness endure forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so..."

If you're in the middle of a difficult situation, trust that God's doing something good right now-bringing circumstance together, changing hearts, changing minds. Don't wait until you're on the other side of the blessing to thank Him for it. Remember...we're the redeemed of the Lord and we are supposed to "say so!"

I was made to encourage

First Thessalonians 5:11 tells us to encourage one another and build each other up. Say something positive to the people around you about who they are or how much you appreciate them. Or tell them how much God loves them and wants to bless them.

Encouragement is powerful. It can actually make a person feel better. I remember one time when I got a text message from my youngest son. All it said was, " I love you, Mommy!" At that moment, I literally felt refreshed by his words. They gave me the extra close of encouragement I needed that day.

Think about the people you're going to be around today and ask God to put word of encouragement in your heart for them.
