When I Grow Up......

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
                                                                                                                                 Jeremiah 29:11

It’s funny, when we’re little we want to be a doctor, lawyer, teacher, ballerina, dancer etc. As we grow up all of our dreams kind of fade away and we start doing something that we thought we would never do. When I was a little girl I loved playing basketball, and I would always say that one day, when I grow up, I would be play in the WNBA. I played throughout middle school and then finally lost my desire to play even though I was good at it. I still played basketball with my friends, just not on a team. WNBA wasn't one of my main things anymore. Then my desire changed to becoming an artist. I always had the sense of creativity, and that came from my family. Growing up is like being on a roller coaster, one minute you’re turning right and the next you’re going left. We’re always changing in life with new dreams and goals to fulfill.
One thing that has always stuck with me and been a great desire, was growing up and owning a business. I never saw myself working for anyone other than God. When I was 15 I started working for my mom doing childcare; that was my first job. I really enjoyed doing that for 5 years. When I turned 22 I started selling Avon, I always had that entrepreneurship in my blood. Now that I’m in my late 20’s I finally have my life in order and pursuing my own online business. I thank God for directing my life in His path and not my path. There is a reason for me not playing basketball and making it to the WNBA and I have no regrets. I love what God has been doing with “My Unique Girlz”. I never thought I would be a blogger a few years back and making a difference in young people lives. I was always an encourager growing up, but never thought I would be using it to blog to people around the world. Through life experiences never get frustrated on what you want to do with your life. We will always go through different changes until we find the right path that God wants us to go on. No matter how old you are it’s never too late to fulfill your dreams. So be patience and you will find your career path for your life. You will have no regrets either.

  1. Beautiful story. Our plans rarely match God's plans. His are always waaaaay better than ours. He is so faithful and wonderful and has great plans for His princesses (and princes). :)

Hit The Delete Button

The other day I was watching Joel Osteen on television and he was talking about deleting negative things people may say about us. A lot of times we accept negative criticism that people say to us like, “you are never going to amount to anything in life; you’re never going to be the person you think you  are going to be when you grow up (doctor, lawyer, etc.)”.  When people keep talking about us negatively and we listen, we start believing it. We start saying to ourselves that I would never ever be able to do that. I don’t have the capability to do that at my skill level. Now we’re so deep in our own negative thoughts that down the line we’re never going to be who God called us to be in life. Instead of receiving negative comments from people, we need to delete them. You ask how, by saying the opposite. I will be that when I grow up. I am at that skill level to get that job. Never give up when you’re trying to reach your goals. When people say no never give up and keep pushing towa

Watch God Work!

By: Joyce Meyer Moses told the people, Fear not; stand still (firm, confident, undismayed) and see the salvation of the Lord which He will work for you today… The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.                                                                                       Exodus 14:13-14 We have free access to God. We can go before Him anytime we want to. We don’t need a special invitation. The throne room is always open, God is always home, He is never napping or on the phone. We can go boldly, expecting Him to meet our need and do it willingly and joyfully. No doubt millions of people pray, but the question we want answered is, how do they pray? Do they pray expectantly, boldly, fearlessly, confidently, aggressively, or ashamed, condemned, asking for barely enough to get by on and seriously doubting if they will even get that? You go, girl! Start praying like you have never prayed before. Believe that God wan
